Navigating The 2026 Budget: Overview & Insights from Johnston Kennedy DFK

30 Oct 2026

The 2026 Budget was presented on 28 October 2026 by Chancellor of the Exchequer John Healey, who promised ‘Breathing Space now, Hope for the Future’. The 2026 Budget sees Mr Healey reject broad-based tax rises, extend the VAT cut on domestic electricity, introduce a £100 Household Energy Payment this winter for eligible households and raise the Small Business Rate Relief threshold. To give our customers clear insight into these changes, we have included an overview that breaks down everything you need to know about the 2026 Budget. The document covers personal tax, employment and national insurance contributions, corporation tax, capital tax and other matters discussed in the 2026 Budget. Mr Healey says, ‘my choice in the Budget today is to give families and businesses some breathing space now, and to begin the radical reform of energy to reduce bills in the future.’
