James Gage

James has been a business services partner with Johnston Kennedy since 1996. His client portfolio includes owned-managed businesses and not for profit organisations. He acts for clients in the retail, manufacturing, construction and service sectors as well as charities and local enterprise organisations.

In addition to servicing the audit, accounting, and taxation, requirements of his client portfolio he specialises in working with clients to develop their business. James is well experienced in raising business finance, sourcing grant assistance, business acquisitions and disposals, and the development of effective financial management controls.

James graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 1984 with a first class honours in Applied Mathematics, Statistics & Operational Research. He has qualified as a Chartered Accountant and is also a qualified Chartered Taxation Advisor.

Prior to joining Johnston Kennedy, James worked for seven years within the business services department of a big 4 Chartered Accountancy firm in Northern Ireland and held the position of manager prior to leaving. He has also worked for four years as financial controller of a locally owned retail and services consortium.

James is married with two children and is a keen cyclist.
