Alec a founding partner in Johnston Kennedy DFK has primary responsibility for the servicing of a portfolio of key clients. He specialises in providing Audit, Accountancy and Business Advice to clients from a wide and diverse range of business sectors and is highly experienced in adding value and providing critical support to owner-managed businesses. Within Johnston Kennedy’s litigation support service, Alec also acts as a Forensic Accountant in commercial cases using his years of business expertise and has also been involved in giving specialist advice for a number of very large tax investigations with Special Civil Investigations and Civil Investigation of Fraud teams.
Alec graduated in Accountancy from the Ulster University Jordanstown where he won First Prize in his year for all three years. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983 and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Alec is currently on the Board of Examiners for the Institute of Accounting Technicians in Ireland and a member of the Institutes’ Syllabus Review Panel. In addition he is also a trustee in a small local charity and is the Board of Education’s Representative and Chairman to the Board of Governors for Orangefield Primary School
Alec is married with three daughters. He enjoys spending time with the family and enjoys the cinema. He is also a keen cyclist and member of Dunmurry Golf Club.
